Match-Day Layering Guide

Grip socks work by gripping the inside of your boot, so keep the grip sock as the only layer between your foot and the boot.

Training

1. Put on your XEO Grip Socks.
2. Position your shin guards under the sock.
3. Pull your team or club socks over the shin guards so they are completely covered.

Match day

1. Put on your XEO Grip Socks first.
2. Pull a sock sleeve over the grip sock leg. Use XEO Sports Footless Socks Sleeves, or cut the foot from a spare pair of team socks if permitted.
3. Position your shin guards over the first sleeve.
4. Pull a second sleeve over the shin guards so they are completely covered.
5. Check that only the grip sock sole sits inside your boot.

Competition rules vary. Australian youth guidance commonly requires shin guards to be completely covered by socks, but requirements differ by club, association, age group, and competition. Confirm your competition rules before match day. XEO does not guarantee compliance with any specific league’s rules.
